Simply Ice Cream – review

Simply Ice Cream – review

I was recently sent some lovely tubs of ice cream from an artisan producer based in Kent called “Simply Ice Cream.” This was literally one of the nicest packages to receive. Ice cream is a REAL weakness of mine. I found the following quote on Pinterest. Isn’t it true?

For me there is always room for ice cream. At any time of the day!

The tubs are gorgeous with a light blue/turquoise fusion hue with very attractive flavours. The ice creams are made using natural locally sourced ingredients, home-made flavours and are free from additives or preservatives. The Ice Cream is made by hand in batches, the traditional way. No mass production over here. This is very important as it also means that quality is taken very seriously.

Now I know my ice cream and so I was getting happy to taste test them all. My verdict? Boy did they pass. With flying colours!

I tried Cinnamon (my cousin helped eat it), Dreamy Vanilla, Salted Caramel, Honeycomb, Mango, lime & passion fruit and Lemon curd. They were all absolutely indulgent. Just the ice cream tub you want when you are watching your favourite shows on TV, or with a side of warm, gooey brownie. Oh yeah!

They are creamy, no icicles in sight (this is my pet peeve about ice cream), taste homemade, have wonderful depths of flavour and are not too sweet. They have just the right amount of sweetness. This is dangerous because it means you can easily finish off a tub without realising it. (Guilty)

They also have beautiful packaging. When you open your freezer it stands out!

So which was my favourite? This was a really tough choice. I could not decide between Salted Caramel and Honeycomb. Both were irresistible. My husband’s favourite was Lemon Curd. He really surprised me there and he is right. It tastes amazing! It is super refreshing. I gave Salted Caramel the number one spot.

I can’t wait to try other flavours in the range. ESPECIALLY PEANUT BUTTER omg it sounds epic. For now I will dream of that delicious Salted Caramel.

Have you tried any other flavours? Let me know in the comments.
