Hotel Review: The Langham, Hong Kong

Hotel Review: The Langham, Hong Kong

Having spent a lot of time at The Artesian Bar at The Langham Hotel in London, as well as indulging in Afternoon Tea at The Palm Court on quite a few occasions, the hotel with its classic opulent design really grew on me, to the extent that when I was searching for hotels for my trip to Hong Kong and I saw The Langham Hong Kong, my mind was made up.

Located in the Kowloon Side, close to Tsim Sha Tsui, it couldn’t have been a more perfect location for us. Walking distance to shops, luxury malls, entertainment and eateries, as well as a 2 minute walk to Victoria Harbour, where we loved taking a stroll, both in the daytime and nighttime, and where we boarded the Aqua Luna, which is an absolute must when in Hong Kong. It is also really close to the metro stations, which was so convenient for us, as we could either take the metro or the Ferry from Victoria Harbour, if we wanted to go to the Central side.

Walking into the lobby and reception area of the Langham Hong Kong, you could for a moment think you were in Europe with its European charm, interiors and design. Everything has the same naming convention as The Langham in London – there is even a Palm Court and Artesian Bar! I loved the feeling of familiarity.

Check in was smooth and seamless and while we waited for our room to be ready as we had arrived rather early in the morning, (6:45am to be exact) we were given vouchers for a complimentary drink from Palm Court, with which I ordered myself a coffee to get some caffeine in me after an 11 hour flight.

Our room was on the 13th floor, and was a Deluxe City View room. It had modern touches, classic and elegant decor, the Langham signature Blissful Bed, was very high tech, and also had a homely feel with a bookshelf laden with interesting reads.

There was a Nespresso Machine, a Flat Screen TV, super powerful air-conditioning, which we really appreciated, convenient plugs which had the UK Pin and Voltage, and the room itself was spacious.

My photos have mostly been taken in the evening as on the day we arrived we literally dived into bed for a power nap after the 11 hour flight!

I loved how they encouraged you to relax by leaving slippers by your bed, and the turn down service was the best, with different treats being left for us every evening, which we really enjoyed.

The bathroom was dreamy with both a tub as well as a rainfall shower, with an uplifting design, using marble and white interiors. The lighting in the bathroom was absolutely amazing and the toiletries were from the Chuan Spa, Langham’s in-house Spa, and were of really high quality.

We weren’t on a Bed and Breakfast rate and just as well as due to Jet lag we just could not get up on time in the mornings, but on the plus side we were awake till late every night so we got to experience the vibrant, buzzing Hong Kong night life. Despite being in a super busy area, you could not hear anything from our room and it was like an oasis of calm inside the hotel.

As well as a Spa, the hotel has a gym, which Amit used everyday, as well as a Rooftop Pool, which was the perfect spot to chill and relax after a day of walking around the city or sightseeing.

The Palm Court at the hotel was very popular for Afternoon Teas, and I soon learned that this was one of the quintessential British traditions that Hong Kong had retained. It looked just as amazing as the London version and I was so impressed!

Although I didn’t get a chance to eat at any of the Hotel’s own restaurants, which includes   a 3 Michelin Star Chinese restaurant called T’ang Court, I did have some cocktails at The Artesian Bar, and have to thank Max for the brilliant mixology.

The Artesian Bar is such a lovely spot to unwind after a hectic day, and super cosy. The cocktails were just so sublime!

There were quite a lot of weddings on during our stay, showcasing The Langham as a very popular choice for special occasions.

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at The Langham, and really loved its convenience, 5 Star luxury as well as exceptional service, and would definitely stay here again if I was to visit Hong Kong again in future. It really was a wonderful stay and so close to everything – we even walked to Nathan Road, the Night Market and Ladies Market from here on a pleasant day!
