Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill has collaborated with London’s Saatchi Gallery for the 7th year and the theme is ‘Beneath The Colour’ where you can see some of the artwork displayed through the hotel, there is even an iconic Saatchi Suite, a themed ‘Chromatic’ Cocktail available at The Churchill Bar as well as an exclusive ‘Beneath the Colour’ themed Saatchi dinner at The Montagu.

We kicked off our evening at The Churchill Bar, which if you haven’t been, it is a hidden gem just minutes away from the craziness of crowds that is Oxford Street! It has an adorable terrace and the cocktails are excellent. I particularly love the Winter Terrace and so make sure you check it out this winter as it is just amazing,
We were trying the ‘Chromatic’ Cocktail that evening, which arrived in a bright and vibrant shade of blue, matching one of the Saatchi artworks, and topped with spun sugar.
It was really delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the terrace which is perfect no matter what season it is. I love the creativity of the bartenders to create such a stunning mixologist’s interpretation of the Saatchi pieces and it is definitely worth a try.
We then wandered inside to The Montagu, where a lovely Chef’s table had been set up for us to experience the ‘Beneath The Colour’ menu. I just love watching Chef’s at work and so this was really exciting.

We had the amazing Executive Chef Mark Sainsbury and Sous Chef Carlo cooking and plating the food for us that evening. The menu has also been inspired by the art installations and I was excited to see what it would all be about.

Kicking off with some Pommery bubbles and grazing on freshly baked bread, we watched them prepare our first course with glee.

The menu includes a wine pairing and so the sommelier poured us all some lovely white wine to start with too so we had plenty of refreshments.

The first starter was a Cured British Isles Salmon & Poached Lobster served with a bright Pea, Edamame, Fresh Horseradish Puree and Sharon Fruit dressing. I loved the zesty sharp kick of the Horseradish Puree and the fruity dressing and it added an interesting flavour to the seafood.

The vegetarian option was the Caramelized grilled figs, steamed artichokes, Goat’s curd and celery oil, which was light, refreshing and presented in a stunning way.

For mains, we were treated to a flavoursome Seared West Country Lamb Loin & Braised Shoulder accompanied with Baby Vegetables, White Onion Puree and Lamb Jus. The lamb was cooked perfectly.

The Vegetarian option was Baked Cauliflower Cheese with Crispy Kale and Spiced Pine Nuts, and comfort food in every sense. Just delightful.

The star of the show and like art on a plate, was the colourful dessert, which was Local Raspberry Lemon Thyme Mousse, Damson Sorbet & Blueberry Almond Slice.

Absolutely divine, beautifully plated, and a real treat to the senses. It was the perfect sweet end to a fantastic meal and totally signified the theme throughout the hotel for the collaboration with Saatchi Gallery.
The good news is that the menu is available until November 30 at The Montagu and I highly recommend it. It makes for a perfect evening to start at The Churchill, followed by dinner in The Montagu and then taking a wander through the hotel to admire the various art installations on display.

The menu is available Monday to Friday between 12-2.30PM and 6-10.30PM, or Saturday and Sunday between 6-10.30PM.

It costs £55 for 3 delicious courses including Paired Wines throughout the meal.

I was kindly hosted by The Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill, but all views and photos are my own.
