“People who love to eat are always the best people. – Julia Child”
Over the past year and a half of blogging, I have met some truly amazing people and I had a brunch date with them in the diary, organised by the lovely Angie, and when the day finally arrived it was so exciting and I was looking forward to catching up with everyone.
As Seetal and I live really close to each other, we braved the replacement bus and a tube change later, we finally arrived at a very quiet Oxford Street early on Sunday morning, which was actually so pleasant to walk down. When there aren’t crowds of people you actually notice things which you normally whizz past!
We arrived at the very beautiful Dalloway Terrace, in the Bloomsbury Hotel, and Angie and Shika were already sitting at a lovely corner marble topped table. Shika was the only one I hadn’t met before but I felt like we knew each other so well already! Soon Emma and Aftab arrived and we chatted over Mimosas and had such a giggle.
I couldn’t help being awe struck by the amazing interiors at the Dalloway Terrace. We were sat in the conservatory area which has a black and white canvas roof that opens and closes, so no matter what the weather you can brunch, lunch or dine in style! They do afternoon tea too.
The chairs are so comfortable and have lovely throws on them, and if the weather is playing ball, you can even sit outside in the sunshine! It is so romantic, so the perfect place to impress that special someone. It is also a fantastic venue to catch up with friends and family, and it also has a stunning bar!
We placed our orders and waited eagerly for our dishes to arrive! I was so hungry as I hadn’t wanted to ruin brunch by munching on toast earlier in the morning.
But first coffee (after Mimosas LOL) and I went for a delicious cappuccino, while Aftab and Emma opted for Lattes.
I went for the French Toast with Maple Syrup and crispy bacon which was exactly what I needed and it was so delicious. Not as aesthetically pleasing as Aftab and Seetal’s options but tasted incredible.
They both went for the French Toast with berries and creme fraiche, which was the most instagram worthy dish.
Angie opted for a bowl of fruit with greek yoghurt, a lovely light and refreshing breakfast.
Shika went for the Kent spinach salad with soft poached eggs, piquillo peppers and toasted pine nuts, a savoury option, and this looked so delicious! If I visit again for brunch this will be what I order!
Emma went for the Bircher Muesli with mixed berries, which was a very pretty bowl!
We had such a wonderful time catching up on what each of us had been up to, plans coming up and travel dreams and wish lists.
I feel so blessed to have made such lovely friends through blogging who inspire each other, build each other up and support and motivate each other. Here’s to the next date 🙂
For now, here is a sneak peek of the downstairs section of Dalloway Terrace – how romantic, pretty and lovely is that?
