Bowling and a meal at All Star Lanes – Fathers Day special

Bowling and a meal at All Star Lanes – Fathers Day special

It had been ages since Amit and I had been bowling (even though we live next door to a bowling alley) and we had never actually tried All Star Lanes. We chose the Holborn branch to review and on first impressions were wowed by the interiors and the spacious venue.

The lanes are split over two parts of the large basement room and there is a wonderful bar where you can have cocktails and socialise. We had arrived ahead of our scheduled time to bowl and so decided to have a cocktail each. I went for a Mojito and Amit went for a Whiskey sour.

The cocktail menu was really impressive but I am a Mojito girl and was in the mood for a mojito.

It wasn’t too busy and the atmosphere was really lovely. It was soon time for bowling so we went to change into bowling shoes and headed to the lanes.

Things got really competitive but Amit did win! Plus as he scored over 90 he won a free shot at the bar.

Pictured below is the token you get to exchange for a shot at the bar.

We then returned the shoes and got back into our own ones and headed for dinner. I was reviewing the Big Daddy Burger which is free for all fathers on Sunday 19 June 2016 alongside a free game of bowling. If you are looking for somewhere fun and interactive to spend Fathers Day, All Star Lanes is a fantastic idea. You get to bowl and have great food!

To start with we shared buffalo wings, which came with a delicious blue cheese dip, and baby back ribs. Both were delicious but we were conscious that we had to save some space for the burgers.

Amit also ordered an Oreo milkshake which was divine but very filling!

The burgers then arrived and at first I just stared at it in shock wondering how I was going to eat it all!

We had opted for sweet potato fries, which were perfectly cooked, as a side.

Back to the burger – It was delicious! I was defeated 3/4 of the way through but am so proud of Amit as he ate it all!

We were both in a food coma afterwards though but it was so tasty, full of flavour and just the most perfect meal after a game of bowling.

This would really be a fun and trendy place to spend Fathers Day. Aside from that, it is such a nice place to have a date night or hang out with friends too. After bowling and food you can relax in the bar area and have cocktails and it has an upmarket feel to it.

I would give the venue a 10/10 for service, food and facilities. The ambience is fantastic and I really thoroughly enjoyed both the meal and the bowling itself.

The Big Daddy burger is a limited edition burger only available on 19 June. The burger and a game of bowling is free for dads as long as at least one of the family eats and bowls too.
