Bombay Brasserie SW7

A few weeks ago as part of  a #ZomatoMeetUp I had the privilege, along with some lovely bloggers, to experience Indian Fine Dining at the newly renovated Bombay Brasserie.

To start with we had a masterclass with Executive Chef Prahlad Hegde where he showed us how to marinate dishes and took us for a tour around the kitchen.

There was lots of mini poppadoms in production too – they were absolutely delicious.

We even had the opportunity to eat fresh naan made in the tandoor. Naan when hot is rather addictive.

One  of the chefs also demonstrated how they make seekh kebabs.

We were then treated to a fabulous feast in the beautiful conservatory part of the restaurant which had overhanging plants and looked gorgeous. In fact it is the perfect venue for a special celebration.

To start with we had Adraki lamb chops, Tulsi chicken tikka and Chargrilled basil flavoured chicken supremes.

  
The Sev batata puri was delicious and in true Indian style I ate it in one go. If you are wondering what this  dish consists of it is wheat crisps topped with peruvian potato mix, gram flour straws and chutneys. Exotic and yummy.


This dish was a highlight and was the Palak patta chaat. It consists of crispy fried baby spinach, yoghurt, date and tamarind chutney.

 

It was a chilly evening so right on trend with the season, Pumpkin soup with Truffle oil went down really well.

Kasundi Monkfish, whh is chargrilled mustard flavoured Monkfish, was up next and I am a huge fan of anything mustard flavoured so I really enjoyed this.

 

Braised lamb shanks was next. This really was a feast there was so much food.

The curries and breads were next and we were spoil with Chicken makhani (pictured below) and Dal Makhani. Fit for a King and Queen.

Aloo roast, which was roasted baby potatoes with ginger, lime and spices was extremely good.

Finally the dessert was a trio of Chocolate samosa, Chocolate raspberry, and Mango fig ice cream. It was divine.

The meal was fabulous and so was the company. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and would recommend it to anyone wanting to have innovative Indian food in a beautiful venue. The service is the Taj hospitality level and cannot be faulted at all.
